Sound quality evaluation

Sound quality can be defined as the sensory response to a product’s divergent noise acceptance.

The purpose of analyzing sound quality is to evaluate a sound event “subjectively” with an "objective" measuring instrument. Human hearing is a rather complex mechanism with highly nonlinear phenomena. Many auditory mechanisms occur simultaneously when people listen to a sound, such as the masking effect of sound, location of sound source, estimation of distance, and assessment of noise. Therefore, a sound event must be analyzed by many dimensions, including the overall level of sound, the length of time it occurs, and the contribution to the spectrum.

That is to say, the previous use of so-called "objective" acoustic power measurement can sometimes generate a considerable gap with people’s perception of "subjective" sound. psychoacoustic noise measurements, such as loudness, sharpness and roughness of sound, are often used to help people effectively understand the sound quality of a product.

The testing center of the company carries out sound quality testing and evaluation of the products through sound quality testing. The main testing equipment includes semi-anechoic chamber, sound quality evaluation analyzer, human head and playback system.
